From My Heart
Karen and I want to thank our church family for the Alaskan cruise you provided for us! We had a wonderful time and enjoyed every minute of the experience. From what I could deduce from the fishing boat captain, we were just a couple of weeks early to get in on the good salmon fishing. Several boats were out fishing, but none of the boats were successful. I was able to hook 3, but they got off the hook, and I was unable to get them up. I guess that is why they call it fishing - and not catching!
The scenery up there is simply amazing, and we saw several huge glaciers, many humpback whales, a couple of pods of dolphins, a number of sea otters, and some bald eagles. It was a wonderful experience, and we enjoyed every minute of the trip. So, once again, thank you for such a wonderful and thoughtful gift. We had never been on a cruise before, but I am pretty sure we will do another sometime down the road! Plus, neither of us got seasick, so that was an added blessing!
We experienced a Divine appointment getting off the ship and heading to the airport. We prepaid to have our luggage taken from the port to the airport; however, after waiting in line for over an hour, we finally were put on a bus to take us to the airport. No sooner had we sat down on the bus than I received a text which showed our baggage inside the baggage claim area! So, we had to run back inside to retrieve our bags! The security was so tight that we had to have the head of port security come and take us to the location to get our bags! By the time we got outside, everyone was gone!
I saw the fellow who originally told me what to do and where to go, and he said to the ONE bus driver, and the only bus there, “Can you take these folks to the airport?” So, we got on this huge coach, just us and the driver, and started towards the airport. The lady driving the bus was named “Sunday,” and she was so friendly and gracious. I told her I was feeling guilty because it was Sunday, and I wasn’t in church preaching! She said, “Well, you can preach to me, what’s the 'good word' for the day?”
In just a short time, that dear lady prayed and asked the Lord Jesus to save her soul and give her an eternal home in Heaven. She was so happy, and so were we! All of that confusion, just so we could be one-on-one with a lady named Sunday, on a Sunday morning, sitting on a bus made for 62 people, but only carrying two folks who were able to share the Gospel with her and lead her to the Lord JesusChrist. Even Sunday saw the Divine appointment and commented on how the Lord worked everything out to His glory! What a wonderful Savior!
Have a great day!
