From My Heart
We begin our Fall Revival today with Evangelist John Hamblin. Dr. Hamblin will be with us for both services today and each evening, Monday through Wednesday, with the services scheduled for 7:00 p.m. I wonder what the Lord could do in these next four days if all of us were here for each service and if we simply gave the Lord our best! I am sure we would see the Hand of the Lord work in a mighty way if we would yield to Him.
On Monday evening, we are inviting the CCS students to sing for us. Hopefully, we will see many school families come to this service! The kids’ choirs are always a tremendous blessing, as they sing with all their might and strength. It is stirring to the soul to see and hear their enthusiasm and love for the Lord. You will definitely enjoy the Monday night service.
On Tuesday evening, we are designating it as Sunday School Night. We are aiming to see which S.S. class has the highest percentage of its enrollment in the service. As of right now (Tuesday morning), we are still determining the gifts for the winning class, and I am thinking it will have to be something that is age-appropriate! But we will have some kind of reward for the class with the winning percentage of enrollment present! So, please work hard to be here, and let’s do our part for our class. I hope each S.S. teacher will make phone calls to each class member and get them here on Tuesday evening.
On Wednesday, we are having Family Night. The teachers in CCS have been asked not to assign homework during the revival, so kids can come each evening and not be restricted by homework or studying for tests. I know it sounds old-fashioned, but it would be so awesome if families would all sit together for this Family Night service.
I have been praying each day for the meeting and asking the Lord to bless and empower Dr. Hamblin. I am also praying for the Holy Spirit to speak to hearts in each service, and to see Christian’s stirred and the unsaved to come to Christ. Would you join me in praying for the meeting? I think if we diligently pray for each service, it will motivate us to be present for each service. Years ago, I saw a church marquee that read in big, bold letters: “CH_RCH.” Underneath was this caption: “The only thing missing is 'U'.” Let’s all plan to be here for each service and see what the Lord can do in our hearts.
Have a great day! Take a moment right now to ask the Lord to speak to your heart and bring revival to you, to your family, to our church, and to our community. God is still able to bless and send revival, so let’s put ourselves in a place where He can bless and stir our hearts.
