From My Heart
I am writing this week’s From My Heart on Tuesday morning, November 5th, Election Day. I have no idea how America will look, after today! I know that much prayer has gone to the Father’s Throne in Heaven for this election, and we are trusting the Lord for results that will preserve our nation’s Constitutional Republic.
Kamala Harris has been the most radical Progressive liberal member of the Senate, even more radical than Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. My point is, that there is no reason to think she will not continue her Socialism ways. But hopefully, we will not have to worry about her getting her grip on the Presidency.
Regardless of whether we are happy or sad over the election results, there is the bigger picture upon which we need to concentrate. In the big picture, God is still in control! You have heard me say that God has a plan, and that plan will not be thwarted by anything. I believe we serve a sovereign God who is in complete control of everything that happens in this world.
Our omnipotent, omniscient God knows the beginning from the end and is “upholding all things by the word of his power”(Hebrews 1:3). So, we can trust the Lord, knowing He is in complete control of everything! If Trump is elected to office, I think you can expect rioting and the radicals burning down America’s cities, looting stores, and creating havoc on the streets. But let’s not forget the Lord is in control.
On a positive note, our Fall Revival starts next Sunday, with Dr. John Hamblin. Let’s pray for a good meeting, and pray the Lord gives us His richest blessing. This is a great opportunity to invite folks to come with you to Church. Dr. Hamblin always gives a clear Gospel message and a clear invitation, so if you would invite your unsaved family members, they will certainly hear the Gospel.
If you ask folks directly, “Hey, we are having some special services at my Church next week, why don’t you come with me to one of the services? The guest preacher is a strong, old-fashioned kind of preacher, with a great sense of humor, and I think you will enjoy him.” Just being pleasant, upbeat, and excited about the services will help the folks you invite feel good about coming with you to church.
As we pray this morning, let’s be sure to pray for the Lord to speak to each and every heart, to stir our hearts and light a fire burning in us to see folks come to know the Lord as their Savior. Take a moment and pray for the Lord to lay someone on your heart that you can invite to come to church with you next Sunday.
Have a great day!
Pastor Norris
