From My Heart

Today begins our Spring Revival Meeting, with Dr. Lou Rossi. Bro. Rossi is a dear friend of mine and of our Church. We have been praying, inviting folks to attend, and striving to have our own hearts in a place where the Lord can bless! I trust we will all do our part and plan to be here each evening. If we give the Lord the next four days, I feel He will do some amazing things in our hearts.

The emphasis for tonight is “Bring a Friend” night! I have a beautiful genuine leather Bible I would like to give away to the person who brings the most guests with them to church tonight. Let’s work hard this afternoon and get folks lined up to come to church this evening, and pray for the Lord to save precious souls.

Monday night’s emphasis is going to be “Sunday School Night.” We are asking each Sunday School teacher (or teachers) to get as many of your Sunday School class as you can, to be here at 7:00 p.m.

Tuesday is “Carroll Christian Schools Night.” We are going to have a special ensemble sing for us, and I know you will enjoy the song they have been practicing! There is always a special energy young people create, and I am so glad our CCS students can help us!

The emphasis on Wednesday evening is “Church Family Night.” I would love to see everyone who attends church at COD, whether you are a member or not, to be present for this Wednesday night service. If everyone who attends COD were to come on Wednesday, I don’t know where we would sit everyone! So please make your plans to be here on Wednesday night. I would love to see the building full on Wednesday (well…I would love to see it full every night) and it can be, if we will simply determine to show up!

Perhaps the greatest revival in human history was the great revival of the city of Nineveh in the Book of Jonah. Jonah was called by the Lord and asked to go to the great city of Nineveh and cry out against their sin! Jonah went the opposite direction, and after God dealt with him in an unbelievable way, he came running to Nineveh and preached to the people while marching around the walls of the city for three days.

What happened was a great revival! From the King of Nineveh to the average person in the city, Nineveh repented of sin and believed in God. The entire city repented of sin and God spared the city from His judgment. Wouldn’t it be a wonderful thing if we could see this kind of revival today! It is something I believe the Lord would love to do again, but we must “believe God” and trust Him!

Have a wonderful day and let’s seek the Lord and believe God!
