From My Heart

Our Spring Revival starts next Sunday with Dr. Lou Rossi.  Bro. Rossi will preach all day on Sunday and then on Monday through Wednesday, at 7:00 p.m. We are going to have a different special emphasis each evening to help us invite our friends, family, and co-workers, and even to motivate ourselves to be here for each service.

On Sunday evening, we are having “Bring a Friend Night.”  Imagine if everyone brought a friend to church that evening! We would certainly have a big crowd that night! To encourage you to invite someone, we will have a gift for everyone who brings a friend as well as a special gift for the visitor(s) you bring with you.

On Monday, we want to try something we have not done before. We would like to designate Monday as “Sunday School Night.” Our Sunday School teachers will have to help us with this effort. Please do your best to get your class members to be here on Monday evening. The class with the highest percentage of their class present - will receive a gift.

Tuesday night is “CCS Night.” We are going to have the students sing for us and participate in the service. I sure hope our students will support this night and that we will have a great representation of our students and their parents. I have instructed Mr. Comstock that NO HOMEWORK is to be given from April 22-24. This “no homework” is for the elementary grades as well as the “middle school” and “high school.” The reason is so that our students and our teachers will not be burdened with something that would give them a need to stay home.

Wednesday night is simply going to be set as “Church Family Night.” Let’s all come to Church on that Wednesday night. This will be the closing night of our meeting, and I am praying for a full church, as all our folks come out to the service. Of course, our choir will be singing each evening, and we will have some great fellowship each service.

The Lord has been so good to our church and has answered a multitude of prayers as He has provided for us. Let’s give the Lord these four days, and pray for revival to sweep over our church, our lives, and our families. I sure need my heart stirred, and I am praying for a renewed spirit and for the Lord to fire us up for His honor and glory. I plan to be here for every service, and I trust you will plan to do the same.

The Lord can still bless and does still bless His people! Let’s “…. humble ourselves and pray, and seek God’s face, and turn from our wicked ways,” and allow the Lord to forgive our sins and heal our land! It seems to me that what we are doing is not working too well, so let’s get thoroughly right with the Lord and try living for Him and see if that might work better for us. May God bless you!
