From My Heart

Living Cross begins next Sunday evening!  It is amazing how quickly it has come upon us this year!  I pray you will invite folks to come see it!  The program this year promises to be a very clear presentation of the Gospel.  This is a great opportunity for your friends and family to hear the Gospel and trust the Lord as their Savior!  The main thing is to pray for the Lord to put His Spirit and power upon each night’s presentation.

In the Gospel of John 14:1-6, the Lord Jesus told His Disciples they should not have “troubled hearts” at the news he had just shared with them about His departure through His death on the Cross.  He told them that in His “Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.”  We know the Lord Jesus would never lie to His Disciples, as that would be completely against His nature and Person!  The point is, if Jesus said there are many mansions in Heaven - then there are many mansions in Heaven!

Our Savior went on to say, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also!”  Oh, thank the Lord for the promise of the second coming of Christ!  He came the first time as “the Lamb of God, that takes away the sin of the world,” but Jesus is coming again as the “Lion of the Tribe of Judah.”

The Lord Jesus is up in Heaven right now, preparing us a place in which to live!  And one day soon, (I am sure praying) Jesus will step out of Heaven and will step on the clouds and call His children home!  I am looking forward to seeing the Lord Jesus face to face!  I have seen Him through the decades, but only through eyes of faith - but one day my faith will be turned into sight!  And so will yours, and we will see Him as He is, and we shall be like Him!  Oh, what a glorious day that will be!!!!

But until our Savior returns, we have to stay faithful and busy about the Father’s business! The Father’s business is leading folks to Christ, so let’s do what we can next week to get folks out to see “The Living Cross,” where they can hear the message of the Gospel.

Have a great day in the Lord!

Pastor Norris
