Announcements

SYMPATHY: to Jim & Debbie Williams at the passing of Jim’s dad, James Williams, Sr., on Saturday, July 15. The Funeral was held on Tuesday, July 18, in Westminster.

THANK YOU: A big “thank you” to the leaders, workers, and Soul-Winners, who helped make Vacation Bible School and Teen Revival happen this past week. Thanks to your service, young people learned how to gain entrance to the “Good Kingdom” and what it means to “put on the full armor of GOD.”

SUPER SIXTIES: “From Sea To Shining Sea,” a patriotic program, will be held on Thursday, July 27, at 10:00 a.m. in the Great Room. Please call the church by Monday, July 24, with your reservation at 410-876-3838, ext. 307.

MINISTRY OPENINGS ABOUND: Our Nursery is a critical ministry of the Church. We have many opportunities for service. Please sign-up at the Welcome Center or text Anne-Marie Albaugh at 443-375-2078.

From My Heart

I am writing this column while waiting for the Wednesday morning service at the National Sword of the Lord Conference!  We have had a wonderful conference and the Lord has met with us in every service!  The crowds have been excellent and the spirit of every service has been through the top!  Dr. Smith has done an excellent job of hosting the conference and sends his greetings to our church!

In speaking with many of my preacher friends this week, one thing stood out clearly:  Satan is busier than ever!  One pastor who has been a good friend for over 25 years told me he was diagnosed a month ago with ALS!  ALS is Lou Gehrig’s disease - for which there is no cure!  Another friend told me his church deacons had a meeting two weeks ago and called him in and fired him!  The reason they fired him is because he wanted to raise money for a building project!  He has been there as pastor for 21 years, and they dismissed him!

I am telling you the Devil is alive and as busy as he has ever been!  There is no doubt the Devil knows the Bible, but he does not know when the Lord Jesus will return for His church, but he surely knows he is running out of time!!  And that is why Satan is so busy devouring, destroying, diluting, and discouraging the people of God.

The Devil knows the time is short, but it seems the Church does not!  I am not sure we understand how little time we have left to do something impactful for our Lord!  While we can, let’s determine to do something for the Lord!  Today would be a great day to join the Church of the Open Door, or to finally make the decision to get baptized, or to take the Soul-Winners Club and learn how to lead a person to Christ!  We are running out of time, so we need to do something for God while we still have time!

I want to thank everyone who helped with Vacation Bible School!  Thank you for all the cookies you brought for the children and teens!  We made the plea, and our church folks went above and beyond!  Thanks for your time and treasure to make it a great week!

Have a great day and I trust the Lord will bless you richly!

Pastor Norris
