From My Heart

I heard an interesting take from a Congressman on these “spy balloons” flying over our country. As of February 14th, there have been four of these objects sent into our airspace, and there will probably be more in the near future. The first one was picked up by the military when it came across the Aleutian Islands of Alaska, but nothing was done. It went up into Canada and then came down into Montana and flew across a huge swathe of the center of the country. After it went off the east coast in South Carolina, the military shot it down!

Since then, three more “balloons” have been intercepted. This Congressman said it seems to him that the Chinese Communist Party is testing the waters to see exactly what the White House will allow! These things have been all different shapes and sizes, and he was suggesting the Chinese government is simply testing the White House. I am not sure what to think…but I know I do not like this whole matter - not one bit!

If you are going with us on the trip to Israel, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia in October, I need you to contact Living Passages and put down a deposit so we can get you into the computer and make sure there is a place for you on the airplane. If you do not want to do the full trip, you can do only the Israel part, and then fly home from Tel Aviv. There are several people across the country who have contacted the travel agency and want to take the trip we have scheduled, but I am blocking them to make sure we have available space for those in our church, and your friends and/or family who want to go. So, if you are planning to go, please contact Living Passages to get your name on the list. They are available at (888) 771-8717, or livingpassages.com. If you use their website, you will need the code OPENDOOR2023, since I have the trip blocked right now to make sure our folks get first dibs on the trip.

In Israel, we will see all the standard sites that every tourist should see, but there are so many new things being uncovered, and we are taking time to visit some of these places. One thing we have never been able to do is to go to Bethel, where Jacob’s well is still flowing with fresh water. This is where the Samaritan woman came in the heat of the day to draw water in John 4. There is a great deal of Bible history that went on in that region, and we will see several new things.

This trip will be the trip of a lifetime, and with the addition of the Jordan-Saudi Arabia extension, we are going to see the Bible come to life like never before! I hope if it is at all possible for you to go on the trip, that you will go with us!

Have a great day and I trust the Lord will bless you richly for being in church today!
