From My Heart

We begin our Spring Revival with Dr. John Hamblin today.  I have been asking you to pray for these meetings, and I have been praying as well, asking the Lord to touch our hearts and rekindle a fire burning in our bones.  In this day in which we live, there is a spirit of apathy and indifference unlike anything I have ever seen.  On the airplane last Monday, a fellow sitting beside me said he was “pretty sure” he was going to Heaven when he steps out into eternity!  As I pursued his “pretty sure” comment, he said he really did not want to talk about it any longer and said he thought he would just take his chances with God!  Sadly, many people feel the same way in our land today!  A sense of spiritual apathy has settled onto our nation.

This is about par for the way folks are in this indifferent world!  I would love to see a Heaven-sent revival sweep across our church that would cause us to want to be in church this week and not just sit in our recliner.  I would love to see a Heaven-sent revival that leaves us with a tremendous burden for our children, our grandchildren, and our friends.  It has been so long since America has been moved and shaken by the power of God Almighty.

Could I ask you to give the Lord these 4 evenings?  Just an hour and a half each evening, starting this evening and continuing through Wednesday?  Let’s give the Holy Spirit of God every opportunity to work in our hearts!  But, you can rest assured He will not work in you if you are sitting home.

In II Chronicles 7:14, Solomon was dedicating the brand-new Temple to the Lord, and he said, “If my people which are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”  Notice the words, “if” and “then.”  This is a cause and effect promise from the Lord!  If we do not humble ourselves and pray, and if we do not seek God’s face, and if we do not turn from our wicked ways - then the Lord will not hear us, will not forgive our sins, and will not heal our land!  So, let’s meet the Lord on His terms and see what He will do in our lives.  Let’s pray daily, several times daily, for Dr. Hamblin to have liberty and power as he preaches the Word of God.  And, of course, let’s pray for souls to be saved.

Have a great day and may the Lord bless you richly.
