From My Heart
Welcome to the Church of the Open Door! I am so excited to see what the Lord has for us today. I have been praying for the Lord to send revival to our church, and I sure hope you have been praying for revival as well. As I see things, the only hope we have for our country is for the Lord to send us an old fashioned, Heaven sent, Holy Ghost outpouring revival!
I was reading this morning in Genesis 5, about Enoch, and it blessed my heart so much I thought I would share with you some of the thoughts I had. There are only two men in the Bible who are said to have “walked with God.” Enoch was the first, and then Noah was the second. And of course, both men had the rich and wonderful blessing of the Lord upon their lives. Noah was delivered through the Flood and Enoch was translated from earth to Heaven before the Flood.
Enoch is a clear picture of the Church, who is going to be translated from earth to Heaven and Noah is a clear picture of the Jews, who will be delivered through the judgment of the Tribulation period that follows the Rapture. The Rapture of the Church is the next major event that is going to happen on God’s prophetic calendar. And once Enoch is translated (the Church), then the Flood (the judgment of the Tribulation Period) will come upon all mankind.
In chapter 5:22, we see something very telling about Enoch. The verse tells us that “Enoch walked with God AFTER he begat Methuselah.” Enoch was 65 years old when Methuselah was born - so for 65 years he did not walk with God - but after his child was born, Enoch knew it was time to start a daily walk with the Lord. The fact that we bear children ought to be incentive enough for us to live for God! For, you see, if you do not walk with God, they most likely will not walk with God. If you do not read your Bible, your children are not going to read their Bible either!
There is a tremendous battle going on for the control of your children’s minds and hearts. It is time Moms and Dads realize the Devil is working day and night to instill his will in your children - instead of parents instilling God’s will. It is time for parents to get serious about their walk with God because your children are watching. And folks, there is a flood that is coming! Not a flood of water, but of wrath. So, whatever you do, see to it that your children know the Lord! Have a great day.
Pastor Norris
