From My Heart
The Psalmist David said, “This is the day which the Lord hath made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Every day is a gift from God, and even though some days are more difficult to handle, David tells us to rejoice and be glad in every day, regardless of what it brings! It is easy to rejoice in the day when everything is great, but it takes some effort to rejoice in those days that are filled with heartaches and sorrows!
I heard a fellow preaching a few years ago and he reminded everyone that no matter what trial you are dealing with, there is someone else who is dealing with something far worse than what you are facing! Remember that the next time something happens in your life! It is good to remember that as bad as things may be in your life - there is always someone facing far worse circumstances.
One of the greatest promises given to every believer in the Lord Jesus is the promise of our Lord’s continuous presence in our lives. He said, “I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.” When things are going well, the Lord is right there by our side. But, the promise is that He will NEVER leave us nor forsake us! That means He will be there by our side when things go to pieces.
The Lord knew all the challenges and difficulties we would have to face because of the effects of sin in our lives, so He made promises all throughout the Scriptures that we can read, trust, and stand upon to get us through those trying times. As we read His Word daily, those promises stand out and help us deal with life’s issues.
The good news is, our trials and heartaches are only for a short season! Compared to eternity, what we must endure here is only a short time! We will one day lay down all our sorrows and cares and will be in Heaven with Christ, and the days of difficulty will be past! It is difficult to conceive a place where there is no sin, nor the effects of sin. But, when our life’s work has ended and we graduate on to Heaven, we will look around us and then exclaim, “It was worth every minute of trial now that we are in His presence!”
Have a great day and enjoy the day the Lord has given us.
