contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”
Jude 3
Lesson: “Contending For The Faith” I : Just as John warned in II and III John, in Jude verses 1-4, we see The Threat of False Teachers
A: The Letter Writer is seen and introduced in verses 1 and 2
- Acts 15:4-13, Mark 6:1-6, John 7:1-5, Acts 1:13-14
B: The Grave Danger, verses 3 and 4
- I Timothy 4:1
II : A Description of False Teachers is seen in Jude 5-9
A – Examples of God’s Judgment on these False Teachers are seen in verses 5-7
1 – An Example from the Physical Realm is seen in verse 5
2 – An Example from the Spiritual Realm is seen in verse 6
-Matthew 8:28-29, Mark 5:7
3 –An Example from the Political Realm is also seen in verse 7
B – The Linkage with False Teachers is seen in verses 8 and 9
CONCLUSION… There are two facts that we must understand…
Fact Number One…Sound doctrine is ESSENTIAL to our Spiritual Growth today!
Without the sound doctrine of the Word of God and the sound teaching and preaching of true men of God, there will be no spiritual attitude of obedience, service, or lifestyle for God!
Fact Number Two…We need to know what Sound Doctrine really is, and then we need to defend it!
You won’t find what the Bible describes as
“Sound Doctrine” in those churches that do not believe the Bible is indeed the inerrant, infallible, preserved Holy Word of God!
You won’t find
“Sound Doctrine” in those so-called
‘churches’ where false teachers give the people whatever pleases them and simply brings in
“a crowd”!
So…make it a point today to stay away from those churches and stay away from those false teachers—get in
‘The Book’ and allow
‘The Book’ to get into you so that you might to stand in the evil day and
“…earnestly contend for the faith that was once delivered unto the saints…”!
