1: God’s power is more than adequate for us to attain to the high ground
of godly living!
2: We, as Christians, are the recipients of inexhaustible resources….
God’s own “DIVINE” power!
3: We as believers are equipped by God to live a godly life, which is
what the ‘Christian life’ is truly all about!
B: God Gives Precious Promises as seen here in verse 4
- II Peter 1:4, Psalm 77:9-13, I Corinthians 2:9
III: The Fruit of our Faith as seen in verses 5 – 7
A: Faith first, as seen in verse 5a
B: Character Qualities seen in verses 5 – 7
- In these verses we see seven godly character qualities that distinguish
the children of God from the children of this present lost and evil world.
-Those ‘character qualities’ that are given by God unto God’s children are…
1 – ‘Virtue’ - Hebrews 11:6
2 – ‘Knowledge’ – I Peter 3:15
3 – ‘Temperance’ – I Thessalonians 5:22, James 4:17, Titus 1:8 and 9.
4 – ‘Patience’ – Romans 5:3-5, James 1:3, I Corinthians 10:13
5 – ‘Godliness’ – I John 3:2-3
6 – ‘Brotherly Kindness’ – John 13:34-35, I John 4:20-21, I Corinthians 13:1-8a
7 – ‘Charity’ - Ephesians 2:1-7, Romans 5:6-8, Titus 3:3-7, II Peter 1:7,
Proverbs 11:30
CONCLUSION…
Now let me ask you today…child of God, are you growing spiritually?
Child of God…Are you growing spiritually the way that God wants you to grow??
Dear child of God, are you growing the way God ‘expects’ you to grow as His child??
If not, then why not??
