“Paul's Ministry in Thessalonica” (Part One)
I Thessalonians 2:1-12

1. 1 Thessalonians 2:1-2 – Paul's ministry in Thessalonica
a. The visit Paul made to them was not a failure.
b. How much Paul and his team suffered just before arriving there.
c. Nevertheless, God gave them the courage to boldly announce the Good News
to those in Thessalonica despite great opposition.
2. 1 Thessalonians 2:3-5 – Paul's message to Thessalonica
a. Paul did not preach with deceit or with impure intentions.
b. Paul spoke as God's approved messengers, entrusted with the Word of God.
c. Paul’s purpose was to please God, not people.
3. 1 Thessalonians 2:6-7 – Paul's motive in his ministry
a. Paul never sought human approval.
b. Paul said, “We had the right to make certain demands of you, but we did not.”
c. Paul declared that they were like a mother who feeds and cares for her own
children.
4. 1 Thessalonians 2: 8-11 – Paul's way of doing his ministry
a. Paul did his ministry with love.
b. Paul did his ministry with a lot of work.
c. Paul did his ministry consecrated, sincere and blameless before all.
d. Paul did his ministry by treating them with love as they were his own children.
5. 1 Thessalonians 2:12 – Paul encouraged them to live a life worthy of God
a. Paul begged them to walk according to the word of God.
b. Paul's ministry was direct and with much effort.
c. Paul's message was the truth and was according to the word of God.
d. Paul's motive was to glorify God.
e. Paul's way of doing his ministry was consecrated and sincere.
f. God called the church to share in his kingdom and glory.
