Announcements
SYMPATHY: to Kathy Reed at the passing of her sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Teaster, on Thursday, February 6, in Beckley, WV. Service arrangements are pending.
THANK YOU: for the outpouring of kindness, encouragement, and concerns for my physical health and for my husband’s death. I was overwhelmed with the amount of cards, visits, phone calls, and prayers. To God be the glory…great things He has done! Marie Kitzmiller & Family
LIVING CROSS: If you are interested in taking part in for this year’s new production entitled, “Suffer the Children,” you can sign-up at the Welcome Desk or register online through the Church Website. Please see Pastor Jung if you have any questions.
From My Heart
We are having our “cake fellowship” after church this evening. I sure trust you will plan to be in the service and also plan to stick around to select the piece of cake that best strikes your fancy. Pastor Brian has put his “two cents” in for German chocolate, and that is also one of my favorites. I must, however, confess that I like just about any kind of cake (and icing). I am sure you feel the same, so I trust you will be back this evening!
As this year’s Living Cross is rapidly approaching, I want to encourage our Church family to make it a daily matter to pray for the Lord to bless each performance. Also, please pray that we will see many folks come to the Lord Jesus to be saved. We are doing a new drama which has a powerful message! So, let’s get the power of prayer behind it! If we can get several hundred folks praying for the Living Cross - I am sure the Lord will honor our faith and bless it richly.
You probably saw this last week when President Trump and Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, met to discuss what to do with Hamas and the Gaza Strip. The entire Gaza Strip is nothing more than a pile of rubble! Since 2005, when Israel agreed to turn it over to the Palestinians to govern and rule themselves, the entire area has been nothing but a haven for terrorists. The Palestinian people voted the terrorist group, Hamas, to be in charge of running the Government. It has been built, destroyed, rebuilt, destroyed again, and then rebuilt…. The question is, “When is enough going to be enough?”
The Palestinians cannot lay aside their hatred for the Jews long enough to notice that this hatred of the Jews is their problem. The Biden Administration always negotiated for and stood with Hamas and did everything in their power to tie Israel’s hands. They withheld aid, arms, and ammunition and seemingly sided at every turn with Hamas. Well, it seems that Trump and Netanyahu are going to change this with force. The Hamas terrorists have tortured, starved, raped, and abused their Jewish captives, and it is barbaric to see emaciated, gaunt, traumatized, and frightened hostages being released so slowly. We need to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and pray for the remaining hostages, if they are still alive at this point.
I trust you will have a great day! Don’t forget, “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you…” (James 4:8).
