From My Heart

Let me take this as an opportunity to say thank you to everyone who had a hand in making the Living Cross such a great success this year!  Every year it is just amazing how many folks are involved in the program and how many folks step up and become a part of making everything work! One pastor who came told me that he would love to do something like the Living Cross but said he doesn’t have enough people in his church to accomplish such an endeavor! I know it takes a great deal of people to do a Living Cross, so thank you to all of you who participated.

We had folks in church last Sunday who were here because they were invited to the Living Cross, and they came, enjoyed it, and then came to church! There is no doubt that the greatest advertisement for the church is YOU! Simple one-on-one invitations are the best kind of invitations we can make.

I asked people on Friday night how many of them had never seen the Living Cross. I was amazed at the large number of people who had never seen it before. Now, why did these folks come in the first place? Without a doubt, many of them came because of a personal invitation given to them by someone who attends the church. Again, the most effective testimony is your testimony! So, I want to say a special thank you to everyone who spread the word and invited others to come.

We have a couple of big events coming up in April. First, the next 12-week soul-winning training classes will begin on Wednesday evening, April 17th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Music Room downstairs, under the auditorium. This training course will help you learn how to share the Gospel with others. We teach you a simple plan which you will learn over the 12 weeks, which will give you the confidence to witness to others. We will give you all the tools necessary for you to become an effective and efficient soul-winner. You can go online to sign up, or you can sign up at the Welcome Desk.

The second big event is the Spring Revival we have scheduled with Bro. Lou Rossi. Bro. Rossi will be with us all day on Sunday, April 21st and then at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22nd through Wednesday, April 24th of that week. We are going to have CCS night on Tuesday, the 23rd and plan to have the young people sing for us, and hopefully, we can see many parents come to the service that evening.

Bro. Rossi is a dear friend of mine, and I am so looking forward to having him as our guest Evangelist. We have used Bro. Rossi in several revivals in the past, but when he became the Pastor of Granite Baptist, he was not as free to go out and hold meetings in churches. Back last summer, he and I were talking one day, and he said he had given notice that he was going to resign as the Pastor of Granite Baptist and would be going back into full-time Evangelism. So, I said, “Do you have your calendar available?” He said he did, so we set the upcoming meeting immediately. I am excited for the meeting, so please mark your calendar.

Pastor Norris
