From My Heart

Our Spring Revival Meeting is coming up on Sunday, May 14th.  Dr. John Hamblin will be with us to preach Sunday through Wednesday. The services on Monday -Wednesday will be at 7:00 p.m. and the Sunday services at the usual times. I am excited about the meeting and looking forward to what the Lord will do! Please begin to pray now for the meeting and pray for souls to be saved and that Christians will be stirred for the Lord.

Dr. Hamblin has preached many times for us in the past, and his messages are always right on target. Please pray for him as he comes to be with us. As you lift him up before the Lord, pray for him to be filled and led by the Holy Spirit during each service. If we are all praying for the meeting, praying for ourselves, praying for one another, and praying for Dr. Hamblin, we will be a part of all that the Lord is doing! We cannot all preach, or sing, or play an instrument, but can become an integral part of the meeting by praying for it and for God to bless it!

The Lord God of Heaven gave us the formula for revival in II Chronicles 7:14. The Temple construction was completed, and the King declared a two-week-long celebration to dedicate the Temple to the Lord. The wonderful thing about this huge celebration was that it was led by the King himself. Solomon did not take a backseat in this matter but stepped up to lead the dedication! He led the entire dedication and directed every aspect of the celebration. When the leader of the nation boldly stands to honor God, the folks under his reign will follow alongside him.

The Lord appeared to King Solomon one night and gave him the formula for revival. In verse 14, God said, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” The operative word in that verse is the little word, “If.” If they did not humble themselves, they did not pray, they did not seek God’s face, and they did not turn from their wicked ways - then there would be no revival in the land.

I believe the thing we need the most in America is a true, real, genuine, Heaven-sent revival! Our nation is sin-sick and needs spiritual healing! The Apostle Peter tells us that “judgment must begin at the house of God” (I Peter 4:17). This spiritual healing must begin in the churches. Our nation is sin-sick, but sadly the churches across America are also. I would love to see a revival in our church, and then see it sweep across the area.

So, let’s take the next two weeks and pray diligently for the Lord to bless, and then dedicate May 14 -17 to the Lord by being here each service, with a hungry heart to hear from the Lord. Have a wonderful day and may God bless you!

Pastor Norris
