From My Heart

I want to take a moment to thank everyone who participated in the Living Cross! It takes a lot of faithful and dedicated folks to make the Living Cross work each evening. I appreciate the way everyone gave their best each evening. The Lord blessed each night, and we saw many folks call upon the Lord to receive Christ as their Savior.  Our labor was rewarded with many folks getting saved.  I know I was tired after Friday night was over, and I imagine I was not the only one!  So, thank you for a great week of presenting the Gospel message to about 2,500 people in four nights!

Our next big event is our Spring Revival Meeting with Bro. John Hamblin.  He will be with us on May 14-17.  We all need our hearts stirred for the Lord!  Dr. Hamblin has been having some wonderful meetings in the last several weeks, and we want to begin to pray for him now that the Lord will keep him strong and give him great power as he comes to preach for us!

You have probably seen where Iran told the remaining Jews living in their country that they were not allowed to celebrate Passover last week but instead were to march in the annual Quds Parade.  This parade is done annually and is celebrated by fiery speeches calling for the destruction of Israel.  Quds is a word that has several meanings.  It means pure, holy, blessed, and the holy one. Quds is the name the Muslim nations use as their name for Jerusalem!  In Hebrew, Salem is from the word shalom, meaning peace.  “Jerusalem” is the Hebrew word meaning “new.”  So, for the Jews, Jerusalem means “the new city of peace.”

So, the Iranians have told the Jews living in Iran that they cannot celebrate Passover but must instead march in a parade calling for the death and destruction of the Jewish people.  It is just another effort on their part to intimidate and embarrass the Jewish people.  You may have seen the radicals marching and protesting against Netanyahu, which is all being stirred up on purpose, just like they do here in America!

Since these riots, Iran, Lebanon, and Syria have decided to go after Israel which has proven not to be too wise on their part!  One Israeli General said that just because there is indecision in the Parliament, there is no indecision in defending their homeland! Since the start of these riots, the Israeli Air Force has bombed many different targets, but the Syrians, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and the Iranians, just never seem to learn!  Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!

Have a great day and may the Lord bless you richly!

Pastor Norris
