From My Heart

Since Satan was expelled from Heaven and fell to the earth, he has been a defeated foe. His destiny is the Lake of Fire in Revelation 20:10 - but he is certainly not there yet! The Apostle Peter tells us that we are to, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” (I Peter 5:8). Satan walks up and down the aisles of this church looking for someone he can attack and get his claws on to ruin!

Satan knows our weaknesses, knows how to move in and seize some aspect of our minds, and knows which avenue is the best and easiest way he can capture our hearts. He is relentless, heartless, and as patient as he can be! He has no problem waiting until just the right time to come after his victim!

Please realize that Satan can read, and he knows what the Bible says about how things will go for him in the last days. So, he is going to work harder with each passing day as he sees the end times becoming more and more clear! As he sees the day of the Lord approaching, he realizes he has but a short time. So, why does Satan hate us so much? Why did Satan hate Adam and consequently, all the descendants of Adam?

I think the answer to that question is when he learned of God’s plan and purpose for man which started a fire burning in his heart, a fire of jealousy and hatred. Proverbs 6:34 says, “For jealousy is the rage of a man.” The word “jealousy” means “not bearing a rival.” Jealousy is the envy of one who has something another wants. “Rage” is that passion to destroy a third party who is considered a rival to one’s place or position in a family or a group.

I think Satan became jealous of the position that God purposed for man! What is that? God proposed that man is to be the Bride for His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. So that is why Satan set out to be a murderer and a liar from the beginning! Whatever it takes to keep men lost in sin, and then whatever it takes to keep those who get saved from telling others about the Lord Jesus: that is the thing that motivates Satan! He can read the Bible and knows his eternal destiny! So, he is going to try to take as many with him into the Lake of Fire as he possibly can.

Don’t let him drag your eternal soul with him into that place of doom and destruction! I pray you will trust the Lord Jesus as your Savior today! Have a great day and may the Lord bless you richly.

Pastor Norris
