Conclusion:
The whole purpose for God sending his prophets into this world was so that all people might know exactly what “Thus saith the LORD…”!
It took courage and it took boldness that comes only from God to do what they did for God even as it still takes courage and boldness from God to proclaim the gospel in our world today!
But we, even as they, have a promise from the Lord that we see in our lesson’s theme verse this morning to “…go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.”(Jeremiah 1:7b), and that promise says in Jeremiah 1:8, “Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.”
Stand boldly for the Lord, dear child of God remembering the examples these men left for us to follow after, who, as we read in Hebrews 11:33-40, “Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.”
Never forget dear child of God, “Faithful Service Unto God Requires Great Courage!”
Let’s choose to stand for the Lord in all that we do today!
